Summer Camps, 2011

Summer Camps will be held weeks beginning:

• June 13, 20, 27
• July 4, 11, 18, 25
• August 1, 8, 15

Camps will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. You'll get a lesson every day. (If you normally ride on one of these days, you'll ride twice that day.) Cost is $150 per camp. Campers must provide their own boots, helmets and lunches. Camps are only for current students of Jeremy's Ranch.

Students who attend one camp will be eligible for one field trip (the campout counts as a field trip). Students who attend three or more camps will be eligible for all FIELD TRIPS. Parents are welcome on the field trips.

Field Trips and Special Events

• Scripps Ranch Spotted Saddlebreds: In Scripps Ranch, there is a fantastic Ranch that has Spotted Saddlebreds. It is NOT open to the public. You may have seen these horses with the beautiful carousel carriages at Night of the Horse. This is a terrific opportunity. This trip is for those truly interested in horses as the owner goes to extraordinary lengths to teach us and show us everything. If you don’t know a fetlock from a forelock, please pick a trip that is less special. Thursday July 21 (to be confirmed.)
• Campout: There will be a CAMPOUT in the arena on Wednesday July 27. We’ll have a BBQ, campfire, s’mores, a storyteller and games. Bring a sleeping bag (we’ll discuss tents later.) We may set up the Maypole and dance around it.
• Del Mar Races: Thursday August 4. Leave Ranch at 12:30 p.m.
• Early Morning Workouts at Del Mar racetrack, Thursday August 11. Leave Ranch at 6:15 a.m. Don’t miss this one! We’ll have a tour of a barn, meet a trainer, exercise rider and probably a jockey. And we’ll meet the racehorses up close!

Parents are welcome on field trips.

There will be a small charge for admission to the Del Mar Races.
